Welcome to Music-critic.ca’s yearly Top Five Records of the Year feature. Every December we force our crack team of authors to go through everything they’ve listened during the year and compile a list of their favorites. We also ask them to include their most disappointing record. This is our fourth year creating this little feature and just like a fine wine its gets better with age. Last year’s list was dominate by Sufjan Stevens But that was the past and this is 2006.
The last 12 months have been fantatic to Music-Critic.ca – more writers, more reviews, and way more hits. But even that doesn’t compare to the last year’s worth of music. This year it seems that Necko Case’s Fox Confessor Brings the Flood has edged out Paul Simon’s Surprise and Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere for supremacy. But let’s see how the Music-Critic.ca team felt about the past year in music…
Take care and season’s greetings.
