Brad Paisley – Time Well Wasted

Rating: 3/5Released: August 16, 2005Reviewer: Nathan Atnikov Creatively, traditional country and western music has been on life support for years, and the likes of Toby Keith haven’t made it any better. While Brad Paisley doesn’t take any groundbreaking steps on his new album Time Well Wasted, he at least manages to remain entertaining enough that [...]

The Rolling Stones – A Bigger Bang

Rating: 3/5Released: September 6, 2005Reviewer: Nathan Atnikov To say that A Bigger Bang is the Rolling Stones’ best release since 1981 isn’t saying much. Since Tattoo You, the Stones have continued to be one of the biggest live bands in the world, but largely on the strength of older material. On their first release of [...]

Matthew Good – In A Coma: 1995-2005

Rating: 4/5Released: September 20, 2005Reviewer: David Coats I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge at the start that I have always been a fan of Matthew Good. Willie Nelson – Countryman

Rating: 3/5Released: July 12, 2005Reviewer: Nathan Atnikov It seems like a paradox at first that Willie Nelson’s first ever reggae CD is called Countryman. The confusion, however, is quickly cleared up upon listening to the album. Countryman is a perfect fusion of the country music that Nelson has been releasing for years and traditional reggae.

Death Cab for Cutie – Plans

Rating: 4/5Released: August 30, 2005Reviewer: Nathan Atnikov Indie kids the world over held their breath when they heard that their favourite band, Death Cab for Cutie, was signing with a major. After their last album, Transatlanticism, hit it big, Atlantic Records scooped the band up and helped them release their major label debut, Plans.
